Feeling like on top of the world

For the day trip we take you out in a custom made Tour Sled which seats 2 passengers. For those of you wanting to drive a sled yourself, we tow a second sled, a so called tag Sled behind.  Do you get to drive your own team all by yourself? Clear answer: NO ! The guide will drive the main sled for safety reasons at all times. Mushing is not as easy as it looks, but more so, with our tours you get to drive a team of dogs which is also used for racing in the Yukon Quest or Iditarod. Comparable to a Nascar race car driver, who not give his car to different people each day. Or would you give your nice car to somebody who has never been behind the steering wheel? During daytrips we stay in control of the team for your own and our dogs safety. But also that enables us to talk to you while running the team and explain about the dogs, strategy and racing. Of course we take your pictures.

And I can assure you, riding the tag sled on a team of 10 to 12 long distance racing dogs is going to pretty be very exiting! We have received the Veterinarian´s Choice award in 2007 in the Yukon Quest and 2010 in the Iditarod. Dog Care is our priority.  If you want to drive your own team with us, please come for a week of mushing, than we have plenty of time to teach you the right skills to drive a dog team.

Having fun on the ride, 12 dogs pulling

Our daytrip is a great way to go out mushing with a whole family all together in one group or some friends wanting to share the adventure. While seated you have ample of opportunity to take pictures of the landscape and dogs while moving down the trail, without having to be afraid of falling off. Yet, driving the tag sled, you can feel the power of a real race team of 10 to 12 dogs.

After the run warm up in our cozy Alaskan home with coffee, tea and cookies and meat some of the retired dogs, now couch potatoes.

COME and MUSH with CHAMPIONS. Sebastian Schnuelle of BLUE KENNELS has won the 1000 Mile Yukon Quest Sled Dog Race in 2009. A few weeks later he placed 2nd in the Iditarod.
