Hello I am Sebastian Schnuelle the owner and operator of Blue Kennels and Dog Sled Trips Alaska, which has been in business since 1997.

I am originally from Germany and decided to move to Canada in 1996. Now I divide my time between Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory and  Alaska.

Having finished the 1000 Mile Yukon Quest 6 times between 2004 and 2011, winning it in 2009 as well as finishing the 1000 Mile Iditarod 7 times between 2005 and 2011, best finish 2nd place in 2009, I have gathered quite a bit of experience and trail stories. Those I like to share with you.

I share my life with a wonderful " dog gang " or " Monsters " as I lovingly call them. My dogs of choice are Alaskan Huskies. It is not uncommon that 10 dogs sleep on my couches, or inside my tent on the glaicer. I simply love Sled Dogs. There is no other animal on this planet which can run over 100 miles in a day, be happy each and every day. They are wonderful companions of life. They are born to run.

During the summer month you find me , as well as 5 other mushers,  on the Herbert Glacier in Juneau Alaska. There we are giving Dog Sled Rides for Cruise Ship passengers with Coastal Helicopters.

In the winter months from late December to early April I invite you to come with me on a Dog Sled Tour, right on the Yukon Quest Trail in Fairbanks Alaska. After having lived without running water and power year round for 16 years I  like to to invite you to my kennel in Fairbanks. 22 miles out of town, on the dead end of No Name Lane, right on the Yukon Quest Trail. Semi Remote, yet civilized with Running water and power. Rustic cabin feel and wood fireplace, yet comfortable with shower and oil heat.

My other passions besides Dog Mushing are Photography and Sailing. My camera is with me where ever I go, be it sailing the beautiful inside passage watching Humpback whales or camping out with a dogteam under a star filled sky with the Northern Lights dancing. To share these wonderful experiences I am privileged to experience, each fall in November and early december I travel in Europe giving Multimedia Presentations.
